We’re Taking a Year Off
After the success of last year’s event – Imagine 2017 – TEDxWestVancouverED will be taking a hiatus in 2018. We are,
however, delighted that a dedicated group of youth from the Youth Philanthropy Council have banded together to organize TEDxYouth@WestVancouver.
This years event is looking to inspire and empower the local youth community through demonstrating “What is Possible?”; conveyed through small actions that can have a cumulative impact: the butterfly effect. Check out their web page at www.tedxyouthwestvancouver.com for updates.
`Well, last year on stage we signed off as the ED event we had been for four years – then suddenly discovered, things had changed.
After months of contemplation we have chosen to continue but we’re doing it with some new members on the team, a new format and the most interest from potential speakers we have ever had! On September 23, 2017 we will all Imagine together.
In the coming weeks we will be sharing more information but here are a few highlights:
We are moving beyond “rethinking education”. Education does not happen in a vacuum so we want to Imagine ideas that will shape our futures.
We are going more intimate in 2017. We returned to our roots in the Studio Theatre and that means, we are returning to an application process for our Participants (attendees) so we have a diverse group of backgrounds and experiences sharing our day with us.
Our team is creating interactive breakout sessions for Participants this year. This has been the feedback for a few years and this year we’re making it happen. More on this to come!
We are excited to be back and thrilled with our potential speakers. Stay tuned for more news in the coming weeks and remember to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and now Instagram.
